Missions

We at Southland are committed to seeing the gospel touch people’s lives both here and around the world.  Below are just a handful of ways we are sending one another out to participate in God’s redeeming work around the world.  We are constantly asking one another, “Where might God be sending you?”

Water For All / Hope Bolivia – Terry and Kathy Waller
The Wallers are Southland’s staff missionaries.  While they are currently based out of Bolivia, their ministry is quickly becoming a ministry without borders.  Terry’s water drilling technology is in demand in places like Nicaragua, Cameroon, Ethiopia and beyond.  Kathy’s work developing a cottage industry (hand painted scarves) for some of the poorest women in Bolivia is also becoming a model for missions in other parts of the world. 

Local Missions
Southland members recognize that the mission to share God’s love with others doesn’t just mean being sent overseas.  We can be sent right were we are.  Members are involved in a great variety of mission opportunities here in San Angelo.  Southland members participate in jail ministries, Habitat for Humanity, children’s ministries, a soup kitchen, meals for the elderly, and more.  

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship CBF
Southland sends a portion of our undesignated offerings and one designated offering each year to support the mission efforts of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.  CBF Global Missions works with churches and others to provide the bread of life - spiritual, emotional, medical, educational and economic - in partnership with the most neglected, those with the greatest needs and the fewest resources.
