The Southland Music Ministry has a place for everyone, from children to senior adults. Opportunities for involvement include choirs, orchestra, handbells, and more! Contact Dr. Tim Lyles, Associate Pastor of Worship, at for information or any questions regarding Music Ministry.
The children's choirs is open to children grades 3 years old - 5th grade. Choirs provide an opportunity to sing in worship services and participate in drama. The K-5th grade children's choirs present a musical each year in May. Rehearsals for K-5th grades are at 5:30 pm on Wednesdays. Grades K-2 meet in Room 100 and Grades 3-6 Room 103. Preschool children rehearse during the Wednesday evening Preschool Ministry time.
Southland Youth Choir
The Youth Choir is open to students in grades 7-12. This group occasionally leads worship at Southland and participates in other projects such as Converge, Youthcue Festival, and summer music/mission trips. Regular rehearsals are Sundays at 5:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Building.
The Sanctuary Choir is the primary worship choir and is open to all adults. Besides leading our worship time each Sunday, the Sanctuary Choir also leads seasonal services During Holy Week, Easter, and Christmas. If you have sung in choir in the past, or simply enjoy music, and have thought about being active in choir, please consider joining us for rehearsals at 7:15 pm on Wednesdays in the Choir Room.
The orchestra is open to adults and high school students. The orchestra leads in our worship services each Sunday. This group rehearses on Wednesdays at 6:15 pm in the Worship Center.
Southland Singers is open to all adults and meets Wednesdays at 2:30 pm in the Choir Room. Southland Singers lead worship a few Sundays each year and minister to many of our local nursing/retirement homes through song.
