Welcome to the Children's Ministry

Welcome!

Our goal is to help our children become true disciples of Jesus Christ by building relationships with them, being examples for them and teaching them God’s Word.

We have three environments:

Preschool Depot

Nursery/Toddlers

Our preschool ministry purposes to teach our littles the foundational building blocks of our faith:

  1. God made you
  2. Jesus loves you
  3. Jesus wants to be your friend forever

With that in mind, every time your preschooler enters the Preschool Depot, they will feel loved, safe, and cared for.

SUNDAY MORNINGS

On Sunday mornings, preschoolers participate in WeeWorship and Small Group Sunday School. WeeWorship is a worship service geared directly to preschoolers with fun music, skits, and a Bible story. Sunday School Small Groups provide a time for preschoolers to hear the Bible story again, complete a craft, and play games that help make the story real. Volunteers and paid workers have all been through a background check and training.

WEDNESDAY NIGHTS

On Wednesday Nights, we offer Mission Friends from 5:45 pm - 7:00 pm for preschoolers to begin to learn about serving others locally and internationally, because you're never too young to learn to be a servant of Christ.

Our Purpose

The Children's Ministry at Southland Baptist Church seeks to provide a loving and accepting environment for all children to grow in their relationship with Jesus. It's import to us that children feel like they have a place to belong and be known. By making children feel important, we hope to lay a foundation of spiritual truths that can be applied to their everyday lives.

Core Values

  • To introduce children to the knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
  • To develop meaningful relationships with kids and their families.
  • To provide God-centered curriculum and teaching in all programs including weekly opportunities to socialize and study the Word of God, as well as other events throughout the year for the purpose of teaching, training, and developing relationships with the Lord and others.
  • To build upon each child's faith foundation

Objective

To help kids know...

  • that God made them.
  • that God loves them.
  • that Jesus wants to be their Savior.
  • basic Bible history.
  • how to use the Bible.
  • how all of the Bible fits together to tell ONE story.

Bridge56

5th - 6th Grade

What is the Bridge 56?

The Bridge 56 is a ministry here at Southland that was created just for our 5th and 6th graders. We realize that this is a very crucial age for our preteens because they are transitioning from being a child to a teenager. Often times the fifth and sixth graders feel misplaced in a youth group or children's ministry. We believe it is important to create a safe, fun, and engaging place for our 5th and 6th graders to bridge the gap between children's ministry and the youth ministry. We want them to have their own individual identity where they can solidify their beliefs in Jesus and foster spiritual growth and leadership skills. We also want to walk alongside parents as they navigate this transitional phase.
